Learn to sew a Dungaree or Pinafore Dress
Come and learn how to sew one of Tilly and the Buttons most popular patterns - the Cleo dress. Cleo is a simple to sew dungaree style dress with minimal fitting required and is so comfortable to wear .
Make it dungaree-style with buckles or as a pinafore with buttons, with mini- or knee-length hem, optional centre-front split, choice of patch pockets and contrast topstitching. Wear Cleo year-round, over a Breton top in the summer or with a roll neck and snuggly tights in winter. Flattering on different shapes, once you try it, you'll wonder how you lived without a dungaree dress!

What do I need to bring?
Fabric : – 1.3m – 1.9m Heavy or medium weight woven fabrics that hold their shape, such as denim (we suggest 10oz denim), corduroy, cotton drill, gabardine, canvas. It is recommended to pre wash your fabric before the workshop as it is likely to shrink a little in the first wash.

Knee length – 1.3m (1 3/8 yds) x 150cm (60?) wide OR 1.9m (2 1/8 yds) x 115cm (45?) wide
N.B If you are tall you may need to get a little more fabric as you may need to lengthen it.
2 x 15-20mm (5/8-3/4?) buttons if choosing the button version (dungaree buckles are supplied for other version)
Matching thread – we provide a choice of basic coloured threads to use during the class but if there is a specific colour match or top-stitching colour you would like please check if we have it in our haberdashery shop as we also sell thread in the studio. Optional: Contrast colour topstitch thread
